Rehabilitation

It is our belief at Standing Start Trust that after diagnosis of neurological injury or disease the nervous system needs stimulation in order to redevelop, if that stimulation is missing improvements maybe delayed or it may even be lost.

After a neurological condition the body often begins to breakdown physiologically, although in many cases this is due to the nature of the injury or condition it is regarded that exercise is an excellent way to help counter any regression and recover through weight bearing and cardiovascular exercise.

Exercise is also an excellent form of recovery, due to the psychological benefits of physical activity. Exercise has been proven to help improve an individual’s mental wellbeing after neurological conditions with improvements seen in energy, motivation and confidence.
